You don't need to explain PGCs to me 🙂 FWIW I've used Creator/Fusion, Scenarist and other spec apps for years. Why it doesn't is as much a mystery to them as it is to me. I visited my local Apple Store and spoke with someone at the Genius Bar as well as another person there and they all said it should work. I've burned the same DVD on different burners, I've burned a DVD+R, it just won't work. I can jump from one slide to the next as chapters but when it comes to video on the next track, that is no longer possible. It will start up on the menu and will go the the first slide but no further.

The DVD plays flawlessly on my G4 powerbook, my G5, and a DVD player I have hooked up to my TV set. The slides are set with markers designating that they pause after each VOBU so the enduser can manually advance each slide. The slide sequences are in separate tracks as are the video segments. (I have seen other with my problem, however) I 've authored a simple DVD-R on DSP 4 that includes some slides and video segments. I've looked at numerous sites including this one but have not found the answer to my problem.
